Richard L. Jahnle, M.D.
Richard L. Jahnle, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and lens implant surgery. He has been practicing since 1986. One of the most experienced cataract surgeons in Delaware County, Dr. Jahnle has performed over 25,000 eye surgeries. He is a comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmologist, evaluating and treating patients with cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, age related eye diseases and numerous other eye conditions.
Dr. Jahnle grew up in Havertown. He graduated summa cum laude from St. Joseph’s University. He attended Jefferson Medical College where he graduated with honors, having been elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
Dr. Jahnle completed his ophthalmology residency at The Wills Eye Hospital where he was selected Chief Resident in his senior year. He was an active member of the teaching service in the cataract and primary eye care service at Wills Eye Hospital for ten years.
Dr. Jahnle is a founding partner and board member of the Crozer-Keystone Surgery Center at Haverford. He is an attending surgeon at Riddle Memorial Hospital and is on the courtesy staff at Bryn Mawr Hospital. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Among his professional affiliations are the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Wills Eye Hospital Society, the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Greater Philadelphia Ophthalmology Society. He is a Main Line Today magazine “Top Doc” award winner.
Dr. Jahnle and his wife live in Radnor township and have four adult children. Dr. Jahnle enjoys sports and coached recreation league basketball, baseball and softball for years. He enjoys music, art and architecture.
Kelly L. Krespan, M.D.
Kelly L. Krespan, M.D. is a board certified, fellowship trained ophthalmologist practicing comprehensive ophthalmology. She joined Jahnle Eye Associates in 2019 and became a co-owner of the practice in 2024. She evaluates and treats patients with cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, and age related eye diseases. She performs cataract surgery and various cornea procedures, including corneal transplants and endothelial keratoplasty. She has performed over 2,000 cataract surgeries. Dr. Krespan grew up in Lancaster, PA. She graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a major in biology and minor in Spanish.
She graduated cum laude from Jefferson Medical College and was inducted as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
Dr. Krespan completed a Transitional Year internship at Crozer before her ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University. She completed her Cornea fellowship at The Ohio State University's Havener Eye Institute.
Dr. Krespan is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Medical Association, and Women in Ophthalmology. She enjoys art, jogging, and discovering new restaurants in her free time.
Melvin I. Roat, M.D.
Melvin I. Roat, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a board certified, fellowship trained ophthalmologist practicing comprehensive ophthalmology and sub-specializing in the cornea. After many years of running his own practice (next door to Jahnle Eye Associates at Riddle Hospital), he joined Jahnle Eye Associates in 2024. He evaluates and treats patients with dry eye, allergies, glaucoma, diabetes, and age-related eye diseases. Dr. Roat works to ensure that each patient fully understands his or her eye condition. Clear and straightforward explanations are given. Questions are welcome! Additionally, eye exams are comprehensive and thorough in order to achieve the best possible outcome. He has been named a Main Line Today magazine “Top Doc” five times.
Dr. Roat was on the teaching staff of Wills Eye Hospital and an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Jefferson Medical College for almost 25 years, where he was actively involved in training medical students, ophthalmology residents, and corneal surgery fellows. He has trained more than 300 ophthalmology residents and fellows.
Dr. Roat lectures to other ophthalmologists at regional, national, and international meetings. In addition to his clinical and surgical expertise, he has contributed widely to his specialty through more than 50 publications in medical journals and textbooks.
Dr. Roat completed his undergraduate and medical degree at the University of Toronto and then went on to complete his fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Hospital.
Dr. Roat is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Edward Mekel, O.D.
Edward Mekel, O.D. graduated from Loyola College with a Bachelor of Science in biology. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he was recognized by the Pennsylvania Optometric Association for highest academic achievement. He was also the recipient of awards from Bernell Optics and Bausch and Lomb for clinical excellence in the areas of binocular vision and contact lens care. Before joining the practice in 1991, Dr. Mekel received specialized training in pediatric vision care at the Eye Institute in Philadelphia.
He also completed a comprehensive rotation in ocular disease management at the VA Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Mekel is committed to providing quality eye care to patients of all ages and has extensive experience fitting specialty contact lenses. Dr. Mekel regularly attends numerous educational conferences to maintain the highest standards in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease.
Zachary Tlumak, O.D.
Zack Tlumak, O.D. graduated from the University of Michigan in 2014 with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a minor in Music. Following his undergraduate education, Dr. Tlumak obtained his Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, where he served as Vice President of the Class of 2019 and was winner of the Clinical Excellence Award for his class. To further his training, Dr. Tlumak completed a residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in West Haven, CT with a focus on ocular disease, low vision rehabilitation, and acquired brain injury.
Throughout his education and following graduation, Dr. Tlumak has worked in various settings including hospital-based, commercial, private practice, community health centers, and homeless shelters. Dr. Tlumak sees patients at our Havertown and Media offices.
In his free time, Dr. Tlumak enjoys playing golf and reading.
Erica Enarusai, O.D.
Erica Enarusai, O.D., graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Spanish in 2017. During Dr. Enarusai’s time at the University of Pittsburgh, she was an active member of the community who played both soccer and track, developed and led the Spanish club as president, and participated in tri-beta.
Dr. Enarusai obtained her Doctor of Optometry Degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2024. She completed her clinical training at private practices in both Ohio and New Jersey, The Veteran Affairs Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and the Contact Lens Department of The Eye Institute of Philadelphia. During her time at PCO, Dr. Enarusai worked with the Student Optometric Services for Humanity to visit and provide eye care for underprivileged communities in Mexico. She also presented a clinical case at the Global Symposium for Specialty Contact Lenses.
Dr. Enarusai was raised in Burlington, NJ. In her free time she enjoys bodybuilding, powerlifting, and spending time with family and friends. She is comfortable performing eye exams in Spanish, and has experience doing so during her clinical rotations and volunteer work in Mexico. Her goal as an optometrist is to be able to offer all her patients high quality care, including those who need specialty contact lenses to obtain their best vision.
